Top third
The distance from the hairline to the brow line (glabella) as a share of total face height. Classical canons divide the face into three roughly equal thirds, so a top third near one third of the face reads as balanced; a larger share suggests a high hairline or tall forehead.

How it is scored
Everything inside the band scores 10, and the penalty accelerates the further a reading falls outside it rather than dropping off a cliff at the edge. For the male band, the falloff is measured against bounds of 26.07% and 38.00%: a reading out at either of those has spent its full allowance and scores about 3. The curve keeps going past them, so an extreme reading still separates from a merely poor one.
